Ted Leo was playing a special solo show in Cleveland last December, and the Grog Shop approached us about creating a poster for the event. After working through a number of ideas, I realized that a portrait of Ted would work great because it’s a solo show. After wrestling with different styles of illustration, the use of hatching and contour lines struck a chord with me. I laid out the type in Univers to round the poster. I chose a bright paper and warm colors which went well with the intimate setting of the show. – Oliver Barrett
