The poster was designed for the Grog Shop, located in Cleveland Heights. The show featured Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains. Sebastien Grainer formerly of Death From Above 1979 featured primarily vector based artwork for the album design. For this poster I wanted to hark back to that aesthetic to draw some familiarity with his fans. However the imagery developed is much more abstracted and was modeled after one of his songs “Big River”. Also another point of inspiration came from the cover illustration of the book Hatchet. The calm and clear imagery resonated with the tone developed in the poster’s design.
