The Go Media building is located on the corner of Lorain Avenue and West 45th street in Cleveland, Ohio. The exterior of this unassuming building is composed of painted black brick and walled over windows on the first story which transition into dark brown brick on the secondand third stories. There are no signs identifying the building, except for a hideous awning that displays the street number 4507. From the outside, the building seemingly blends in with the derelict architecture of the lovely Lorain Avenue corridor.
Our open house was an important event for Go Media as we wanted to invite friends and clients to tour our new space as well as introduce the community to our company and establish our location in historic Ohio City. In developing a concept for our unveiling, we realized that people most likely wouldn’t even know what building we were located in. We knew we needed to disambiguate ourselves from the surrounding businesses. As a result, we developed a concept that would serve to scream out our event so loudly our guests could not be confused that Go Media was here.
The “Go Media is Here” print campaign and corresponding open house concept were developed from the ubiquitous signs stores use to announce “Come in we’re open.” In our bold twist, we set out to establish our location without confusion. Through a series of corresponding print pieces, we developed a whimsical approach that thoughtfully expressed our company’s persona. The resulting campaign was extremely successful and the turn out for the even exceeded all expectations.
