Horsburgh & Scott: Industrial Manufacturer

Horsburgh & Scott was founded in 1886 and is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of industrial gears and ‘made-to-order’ mechanical gear drives. The goal of rebranding Horsburgh & Scott was about balancing their heritage with a promising future. They not only wanted to convey their experience and professionalism in the logo, but they also wanted to feel contemporary and progressive. After the initial rounds of conceptual work, we nailed down the approach and produced a polished logo that feels just as relevant as it does proven and reliable. The classic treatment of the logotype paired with a more contemporary seal acts as a perfect counterbalance, while working seamlessly together. Our involvement helps put H&S in a position to grow into the future and build on an already strong legacy.

WMC Fest: Design & Music Festival

Weapons of Mass Creation is a concept developed by Jeff Finley that celebrates creative visionaries who choose to make the most of opportunities in life. These individuals are proactive and take advantage of their free time and creative pursuits. This WMC’s concept led to a series of meetings and discussions about a convergence of these individuals that eventually culminated in a two-day art, film, and music festival held in Cleveland, Ohio in May of 2010. This powerful message stood as the backbone for the visual brand of WMC. In creating the identity, we were aiming to convey that sense of courage and confidence that we want to instill in the audience. The name Weapons of Mass Creation is very powerful and can stand on its own without the need for a lot of visual clutter.

Dirty Laundry: Annual Design Show

For the first annual Go Media design show, we wanted to use a theme that would be catchy and engaging on promotional materials, raffles, and studio decorations. After a brainstorming session, one of our designers came up with the concept: Go Media airs its Dirty Laundry. We used this concept to show off the work we’ve completed in 2010 and some that hasn’t been seen before as well. From rough sketches to working concepts, we displayed both the best of the best and the unapproved. Work covered the walls and glass panels of our studio and even hung from the ceiling. We raffled off a variety of donations and laundry accessories (Tide detergent, Oxy Clean, Febreeze, and Shout) at the end of the evening and the recipients dashed off to clean their dirty laundry immediately.
