Cleveland Proud
We take great pride in the city of Cleveland. We want to do our part to establish our city as a creative powerhouse. That’s why we put on an event called Weapons of Mass Creation Fest. There’s been a lot of talk about Cleveland’s rejuvenated arts scene, and we’re happy to be part of it. This is our second year doing it, and you are officially invited.
We’ve set the date and venue for Weapons of Mass Creation Fest 2011. It’s June 11-12 in the Gordon Square Arts District on Cleveland’s west side. Right nearby The Capitol Theatre, Gypsy Bean Coffee, Luxe, DuoHome, etc. The goal of WMC Fest is to inspire and enable the creative mind and become a premier event for artists & designers in the Midwest. It’s also a place for business owners and entrepreneurs to come meet movers and shakers in the design industry. This year it’s going to be amazing. We’re having 20 speakers, 20 designers, and 20 bands across three venues including the Happy Dog, Wall Eye Gallery, and Reinberger Auditorium.
Overview: What’s WMC Fest?
It’s a fest for those who live to create! It was founded by Go Media partner Jeff Finley. Only in its second year, it’s already generating lots of buzz within the creative community. Come to WMC Fest to network, collaborate, get inspired, learn new tricks, and level up! Did I mention it’s a fest? That means fun!

The Goal of WMC Fest
Weapons of Mass Creation is a young grassroots movement to inspire and enable the creative mind. We believe that good things happen when ideas and talents are shared within the community. This mentality manifests itself in the lifestyle of a Weapon of Mass Creation. A person who defies the hand they’re dealt and makes stuff happen.
Once a year, we have WMC Fest. The annual gathering of this community right here in Cleveland, OH. We celebrate and showcase the creative visionaries who embody this lifestyle. We bring the movement to the masses.
Some have compared WMC Fest to SXSW or the 99% Conference but with an indie/diy flavor. We aren’t exactly trying to be like them, but the comparison is flattering nonetheless. It’s part conference, part concert, part art show, and part festival. It’s simply WMC Fest!
20 Speakers
Attendees will enjoy 10 inspiring talks per day on the subjects of graphic design, art, entrepreneurship, leadership, productivity, creativity, and more. Creative leaders both local and national will present at the Reinberger Auditorium.
20 Bands
The Happy Dog will host 10 local and national bands per day. Free admission before 8pm with a recommended donation of $5. There will be a $5 cover charge after 8pm. Musically, expect a diverse and creative sound with and proudly independent spirit.
20 Artists/Designers
The event will also include a jaw-dropping art and design show highlighting both local and regional talent. Curated by Go Media and the Wall Eye Gallery, expect to see some amazing work.
$1/Ticket Benefits A.R.M.
For every ticket sold, $1 will go to benefit Anonymous Relief Mission, a non-profit organization that helps people move into a home from off the street. They supply furniture, supplies, and labor to help do the moving.
Funding & Sponsorship
Instead of charging hundreds of dollars like most big conferences, we’re charging $10 or less. We want to make WMC Fest accessible to everyone, not just those with big budgets. To keep WMC Fest a low-cost event, we rely on sponsors to help us out. We look for sponsors that support creativity, art, entrepreneurship, hard work, honesty, trust, and integrity. Last year’s sponsors were Fuze, Monster Energy, Cleveland Public Theater, Jakprints, Erie Island Coffee, Hot Cards, Ohio Authority, Purebuttons, CLE Clothing Company, Imagekind, and others. We will also be using Kickstarter again to allow for fans to chip in and support the event.
Stay Tuned for More!
This is early, the event’s not until June. But check out our Facebook Page for updates.
